could I say that Luke is a christ figure?
Well, I would say that luke is a Christ figure in a certain way like the way how he could take the other's attention just showing his personality and ideas, never trying to impose himself over his mates. Besides, through his pain he show them that to keep living was worth and it was the way to be free. Finally, his dream of freedom took him into a fatal outcome, yet It made the others believe and be free. So I think there is the similarity with christ.

ReplyDeleteThough this post is brief, you raise some pertinent observations. What I like best is the awareness of his not trying to impose himself but to lead w/ his personality and ideas--this is part of what makes him cool, not needing to be liked or admired, and certainly not needing the approval of the guards' or prisoners' authority. Sometimes, I wonder if Luke had to die. But of course he did.
