During this short time studying Cindy Sherman and having a glance about others, I can see how they achieved to create their own photography style, and believing in the way to manifest theirs thoughts and feeling they could be successful.
I think would be almost impossible don´t be affected in my way to take pictures after have looked and tried to analyze the work of Cindy Sherman who, in my opinion, has unquestionably the most strong photos graphic, visual and conceptually, although in some cases those are repulsive and disgusting. It is not easy to imagine taking a picture of oneself not being a portrait, but a character of a story. It is a sign of her big creativity besides of her controversies topics and techniques uses in her work which makes me think in how many ways to take pictures could exist, however we are not able to explore or believe that we can create a new one.

ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your post, and you and your group did a great job with a challenging photographer. I agree that it was interesting to see the varied aesthetic responses from each artist. I can see how studying Sherman would reward in the sense of showing you new possibilities--for stories, for perspective, for exploration of self through others. Maybe your girlfriend likes Sherman a little bit more now?
well, actually she doesn´t like her yet, but she has understood which the Cindy´s purpose,and respect her way to expose the ideas and feelings. I believe that It is what really matters when we appreciate any art form, being of our liking or not.
